The Research Of Traditional Ancient Settlements Space Environmental Effect Based On Semantic Differential Method And Fractal Theory

By using the method of fractal theory, SD analysis and factor analysis, this paperregards the ancient Shushan South Street in Yixing and Changlinhe ancient town inFeidong as the research object, then discusses the influence of compositephysical environment on traditional ancient settlements.Starting with the related literature and theories, this paper summarizes the contentsand methods of the subject, extracts the significant theory points and mixes them up.Using the method of fractal theory, the paper studies on the characteristics of the spaceform, building plane and elevation of the ancient Shushan South Street in Yixing. Thestudy found that the fractal feature in the general plan of ancient South Street is notobvious, but it’s obvious and continuous in each levels in the fa ade of the buildings.Based on the results of fractal theory, the paper simulates the temperature andhumidity compound environment both in summer and winter of Yixing Shushan ancientsouth street, then researches on the SD analysis of questionnaire survey.Get thepsychological perception, satisfaction and preference of the environmental space inancient south street under different temperature and humidity environment conditions.The author found that temperature and humidity environment has great influence onthe evaluation of ancient South Street in complex environment， especially on theevaluation of quiet degree，artificial degree and traditional sense.Take the fractal research and comparison of visual environment before and aftertransformation in Feidong Changlinhe ancient settlement for example，the paperanalysised the characteristics of the visual environment based on SD method, thensummed up the project’s faults before transformation and optimized them.And thencompare the visual environment before transformation with it after transformation，summarize the reasons why people get psychological differences for the two kinds ofancient settlements.Through the scientific and rigorous quantitative data and completely analysis, theauthor makes the building design more accurate and effective.
