With the rapid development of the information technology, communicationtechnology and network technology, people are developing a new, expanding society–the Network Society. Our life is affected by the Network. Education, as an importantpart of the social system, is also no exceptional. The object of this study is MOOC, aspecial presentation of education in the Network Society. In the informational, internetbackground, education with Internet technology, break through the traditional mode ofeducation. To a certain extent, it’s an education reform. In the existed researches andstudies about the MOOC, mostly from the point of view of education, discuss the roleof the MOOC in education, and its existing problems. However, the influence of theMOOC not only exists in education, computer technology, the MOOC is also animportant phenomenon of Network Society. Through the research about the MOOC, itwill help to increase our understanding of the Network Learning Community andNetwork Social. First of all, this article will compare the basic operation mechanismbetween MOOC and traditional education, from the perspective of the industrial chainof knowledge. Then, this article makes a comparative analysis of construction andcharacteristics of the Learning Community in MOOC and in traditional education.This article argues that compared with traditional education, the Learning Communityexisted in MOOC is with more heterogeneity, more disembedding, and multiplemutual block characteristics. Furthermore, this paper discusses the relationshipbetween MOOC and the traditional education. This paper argues that MOOC makestranscendence to the traditional education. This mainly reflected from that in thetraditional education system, one has to pass exams to obtain the chance to have higheducation. However, learning on MOOC doesn’t need this kind of qualification, whatyou need is Network. The time and physical space in the traditional education arealmost lost their control, and that knowledge is more open and more divergent. Finally,this paper argues that MOOC may promote the equal opportunity of education, and itwill provide us a new way to promote the social integration.
