It is about the elementary school-age demographic transition in16states/cities from2010to2020, which analyses the relationship between the change in school-age population and the development of elementary education.First, in this study, I adopt literature research and review the achievements in Yunnan’s elementary education from1949to now. It gives a general description of the development of elementary education in Yunnan province and16states/cities. We can tell that the elementary education of Yunnan province has taken a great leap in the number of students, full-time teachers and student-faculty ratios, especially in some ethnic regions from1949.Second, this study uses the theories of pedagogy, demography and statistics to explore the influence that the school-age demographic transition has on the elementary education of Yunnan province. The changes include the number of school-age population, age structure and sex structural. The study reveals that the great leap in Yunnan elementary education and related changes in the16states/cities have no obvious connection with local social and economic development level. Finally, from the perspective of educational theory, the study analyses the school-age population change in the decade. Referring to the long-term plan for education reform and development in Yunnan province (2010-2020), it discusses the problems and challenges that Yunnan elementary education faces. And thus puts forward countermeasures and suggestions accordingly for Administrative Departments for education and the relevant departments to make educational policy in Yunnan province. |
