Therefore, this article will polo rheological as a starting point, the purpose is to find out the cause of the polo’s rise and fall in the ancient times, for we digging and inheriting traditional ethnic sports to provide the reference in the future.Object of this paper is the rheological process of polo in the Chinese ancient. Methods Based on the literature, logical analysis and comparative, according to the historical development of the vertical angle to Polo rheological as the breakthrough point, Chinese ancient polo can be divided into four stages: the rise of polo(Han dynasty) and the prevalence of polo(Tang dynasty), the development stages of polo(Song, Liao Jin), the recession stage of Polo(Ming and Qing). Make a horizontal comparative analysis of the constituent elements of the polo, in combination with the social background of the dynasty, analyzes of the causes of polo rheological, in order to enrich the research field of polo.Combined with the contents of the research, draws the following conclusions:1. The origin of polo was divided into the "Central Plains", "Persian said", "Tibetan said", due to scholars have their own views, The origin of polo has not been unified conclusion.2. Polo arose in the Han, The material basis for polo rose included breeds and the invention and perfection of the harness. The needs of the military training were the main reason for the rise of polo in the Han dynasty.3. Polo reached peak in the Tang dynasty. The prevailing forms have the perfection of equipment; the development of the polo match rule and increased participation main body, etc. The prevailing causes include the developed economy, the emperors like polo, the need of military training, the demand of Chinese and foreign exchange and rich festival activities.
