Inquiry teaching which is an important teaching mode under the new curriculum reform has important significance for training innovative talents and promoting the professional development of teacher and promoting the diversified development of biology teaching. On Inquiry Teaching research in our country have achieved fruitful results in the theory and practice of inquiry teaching.However, there are still many problems in concrete inquiry teaching research.This research used the literature method, interviewing method, classroom observation method and selected three junior middle schools as the research subjects.It carries on the comprehensive understanding and analysis about the implementation status of inquiry teaching in junior middle school.In order to enrich, deepen the understanding of inquiry teaching, provide a valuable reference for the reform of inquiry teaching of the junior middle schools in our country.This paper mainly includes the following parts: The first part is an introduction, including raising problem, literature review, purpose and significance of the research, contents and methods of the research and the definition.The second part is a research overview of the inquiry teaching, including the guiding ideology of the inquiry teaching research, the important role of the implementation of the inquiry teaching,the principles of the implementation and the basic characteristics.The third part is an analysis about problems and causes of the inquiry teaching of the junior middle schools biology. It revealed and summarized the problems of the inquiry teaching of the junior middle schools biology on the basis of the classroom observation method and the interviewing method.It includes that teachers and students lack of sufficient attention about inquiry teaching; The role of teachers and students is improper; Ignore the cultivation of students’ scientific literacy and innovation ability;The junior middle schools does not have the excellent teachers to open inquiry teaching curriculum; teaching evaluation mechanism is not perfect.And it analyzed the causes from four aspects in the question foundation, including the teachers, the students, teaching environment, teaching evaluation.The last part is the countermeasures analysis of the effectiveness of inquiry teaching in junior middle schools biology.It analyzed the countermeasures from five aspects according to the existing problems in the inquiry teaching of junior middle schools biology,including improve teachers’ inquiry teaching ability; improve students’ inquiry learning ability; make design of the inquiry teaching; construct a scientific evaluation system; optimize the teaching environment.
