Scientific inquiry is one of the basic concepts of curriculum reform,and the ability of scientific inquiry is a necessary ability for students to adapt to the social development in future.It is an important mission and fundamental task of basic education to cultivate students' talents that meet the needs of the society.It is also the duty-bound responsibility of educators.Biology is a subject based on experiment.Inquiry experiment is the main way to cultivate students' inquiry ability.Therefore,it is required for the new era to deeply promote the execution of inquiry experiment teaching to raise students' inquiry ability.To effectively carry out inquiry experiment teaching and cultivate students' inquiry ability,several steps of research were taken in this study.First,both domestic and abroad references relevant to the topic were broadly reviewed.Second,the current situation of the biological teaching of inquiry experiment in junior high school,particularly including problems and shortcomings existed,was investigated through teacher interviews and classroom observations.Third,to solve these problems and promote the efficiency,the corresponding improvement strategies for inquiry experiment teaching in biology were put forward and practiced in classroom that mainly focusing on training students' inquiry ability.In the process of teaching practice,the observation method was applied to evaluate students' classroom performance,participation degree and practical ability;the measurement method was used to evaluate students' inquiry ability at different learning stages;Use the case study method to conduct in-depth research,analysis and reflection on teaching cases.After the practice,the effect of inquiry experiment teaching was comprehensively analyzed by integrating the results of questionnaires of junior high school students' inquiry ability in biological experiment,the sheets of students' experimental report and the test of students' inquiry experiment.The results of practical research show that most students have strong ability to explore biological experiments,and there is a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of inquiry ability,indicating that the six kinds of inquiry capabilities are related to each other.Improve students' ability to explore.At the same time,the practical effect also proves that the teaching strategy proposed in this study has strong pertinence and operability,which can provide some reference and reference for the firstline biology teachers to carry out inquiry experiment teaching.However,due to the lackof teaching experience and short research time,the research also has some shortcomings,which need to be further improved in the later experimental teaching process.
