Hosting the Youth O lympic Games(YOG) successfully is of great importance to the development of the city of Nanjing as the YOG, to a large extent, imposed various influences on Nanjing’s economy, culture and the environment, bringing benefits to Nanjing residences, however, at the same time, letting them undertake the cost of hosting the event. Nanjing residents, the stakeholder of the YOG, held the most immediate perception of the YOG which directly affected their attitudes towards tourists and the sporting event. Consequently, investigating the perception of Nanjing residents on the impact of the YOG remained vital both academically and empirically. Studies on the perception of local residents on the impact of major sporting events are capable of improving the organization of major sporting events, encouraging residents to support the event positively; meanwhile, residents’ rights and benefits can be protected and the negative effects on the residents can be minimized, thus promoting the harmonious development of the society.For residents of Nanjing, this paper analyzes the Nanjing residents perception of YOG impacts.This paper mainly has three research purposes, the understanding of Nanjing residents of YOG affect the perception of the situation;To understand the influencing factors of residents’ perception;Verify the residents perceived benefits and perceived cost and support.The article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction, introduced the selected topic background, research significance of this study, the research object, research method and technical route.The second chapter is the research review, define the large-scale sports event, perception, residents, and reviews the domestic and foreign large-scale sports event impact and residents perception research present situation, studies the basic theory of perception.The third chapter, on the basis of summarizing the predecessors’ research, put forward in this paper, we study the theoretical assumptions.The fourth chapter, choose 2014 YOG in Nanjing as a case study, through the questionnaire survey to obtain Nanjing residents perception of relevant data, using factor analysis method to investigate the Nanjing residents of YOG will bring economic effect, social effect and environmental impact of perception.The fifth chapter, through the analysis of variance were used to study the influences of different demographic background on the residents’ perception differences, induces the Nanjing residents’ perception of the impact of YO G.The sixth chapter, through the above analysis and discussion, the residents’ perception factor regression analysis, hypothesis testing.The seventh chapter analyze the conclusion, Suggestions are put forward according to the conclusion.In this paper, the main conclusion is that the residents’ perception of the YOG differences associated with demographic background, way of residents to participate in the YO G influence on perceived differences between the most widely;Residents perceived benefits of the YOG and support, including its biggest influence environmental benefits;Residents’ perception of the YOG cost is negatively related to the residents’ support, including economic costs no significant relationship with residents’ support.
