This paper based on the theory of comparative education, etc. Using Britain and international school’s chemistry textbook which was pressed in 2014 and our country’s compulsory textbooks for high school which are published by people’s education press as the research objects, using literature method, content analysis and comparative analysis and other research methods. First of all, from the perspective of curriculum standard’s nature, content and evaluation to analysis of both Chinese and Britain to ensure the design of two textbooks. Then analyzed the education system of British, the "General Certificate of Secondary Education" and the relationship between "GCSE" and "IGCSE".After that, from the macro and micro aspects, compared the system structure, content, experiments, columns, exercise, illustrations and typical knowledge of the IGCSE Chemistry with our chemical textbooks’ one, and putting forward some opinions and suggestions to our textbook’s compilingStudies have shown that: comparing with Compulsory 1and Compulsory 2, the system structure of IGCSE Chemistry is more completed than our chemical textbooks, the textbook’s rear part is more functional, the content has huge coverage, focusing on the link between chemistry, economy, society and natural environment, having the thought that chemistry can mix with other subjects, the part of experiments are more completed, which emphasize the application of experimental skills and closely related to our life, the setting of columns are brief and have a high utilization, the difficulty level of exercise is obvious. Besides, IGCSE Chemistry has exquisite illustrations, rich forms and has a larger number of images than our chemistry textbooks. After analysis of the two sets of chemistry textbooks’ pros and cons of various aspects, putting forward some opinions and suggestions to our textbook’s compiling.
