Good quality preschool education plays a very important role in inspiring children’s potential, promoting children’s overall development. Since Namibia gained independence, Namibia has introduced lots of early child education policies and development plans. However, at national scale, preschool education in Namibia has an uneven development.This article divided Namibia preschool education model into the preschool education model led mainly by western culture and the preschool education model led mainly by indigenous culture from a cultural perspective. Then the article analyzed the advantages, shortcomings and development tendency of the two different models. In future, Namibia minority preschool education should increase the proportion of scientific knowledge; rural preschool education should improve education quality; and in urban areas, preschool education should attach great importance to the development of cultural diversity. And at the end of this paper, there are suggestions for developing preschool English education and education for ethnic minorities of China.The thesis is divided into six parts.The first part is introduction, including purpose of the study, core concepts, the present research, study design and research significance.The second part introduces the situation of the Namibia preschool education from the perspective of existing policy, and analyzes the different concerns of the early childhood education policies, taking Wake up!Center as a case study.The third part of the paper analyzes the preschool education model led mainly by western culture, including the background, the underlying theory, education contents and the basic parts of this model.The fourth part of this paper analyzes the preschool education model led mainly by indigenous culture. One is family-visit model, the other is community-based kindergarten model. This part also illustrates the background, the underlying theory, education contents and the basic parts of this model through the San case study.The fifth part of this paper is evaluation and outlook. It analyzes the advantages, shortcomings and development tendency characteristics of the two kinds of Namibia preschool education models.The last part makes a summary of Namibia preschool education models, and also gives some suggestions on preschool English education and preschool ethnic education of China.
