In the 21 stcentury, science and technology developed rapidly, knowledge updated frequently, and novel knowledge was emerging constantly. Therefore, the fierce competition among countries has become one among talents with innovative ideas. In order to reach the purpose, the educational goal set in coming decades was to develop such talents. In term of primary education, biology of junior middle school was regarded as one of important disciplines. Teaching items related to teachers were based on compulsory education of biology curriculum standards(2011 edition) and new requirements which the text biology of junior middle school put forward for the exploring ability of junior students.The key factors which affected on the improvement on students’ potential were students’ mind. Mind map were seen as a completely new way of thinking, which could trigger brain intelligence and contribute to human’s potential. According to this, 18 students under the 60 score were randomly selected as a researched object in the middle school of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. Finally, questionnaire investigation,observation and mathematical statistics were used to analyse differences after using mind map. The results of the study showed: the first, after using the mind map, students testing scores and ability to solve the problems were improved clearly; the second, the standard values for students to think of the key words were rising clearly; the third the attitudes towards learning biology were transformed from receiving to accepting learning. Above all, the conclusions were following. The first, Mind map could contribute to improving the ability to master knowledge, the second, triggering students’ interest in the learning biology, and the third developing the students’ mind. Based on our study above, some practical proposals were given that ? combined with students’ condition, mind map should be used flexibly, ? relaxing and easy class atmosphere should be created, and ? more attention should be paid to inter-student cooperation.
