For the historic reason, the majority of Li people live in the middle of the island. Natural condition is week as well, The places where they live are surrounded by mountains and the transportation is not smooth enough, which lead to the low productivity and the poor living condition. The reasons above contribute to the hardship and barrier of the basic education development. Its mathematical education is quite different from the Han area. with mathematics teaching experience in Li area high school, I found in the mathematical teaching of senior high school that many problems exist in the students’ calculating ability, which relate to the study of physics, chemistry and biology, Thus cause the region overall academic ability is low. As a mathematics teacher in Baisha Middle School, I think it’s imperative to study the reasons of the senior students low calculating ability and draw up the solution to solve the problems.In this paper, combining my three years of teaching experience in Baisha Middle School, I adopt documentary method, questionnaire Survey method, interview method and case study method. Using the result of test, questionnaire and interview to analyze the reasons that cause of the low ability of mathematical operation in Li area senior high school. From the class teaching design, I try to explore some strate gies that suitable for Li area senior high school students.The paper is composed of five chapters: The first chapter is introduction. The chapter combines the author’s education teaching experience and elaborates the cause of the problem and the practical significance of research. The second chapter, under the premise of summarizing the domestic correlational research of the Mathematical operation ability. I state the understanding of the ability of Mathematical operation myself. The third chapter, by comparing the senior high school students’ test scores, students’ questionnaire and the interviews with teachers in poor county of the Han region with Li area. I concrete analyze the questions about high school students mathematical operation ability. The fourth chapter, from family factors, students study habits mathematics and teachers to sum up the cause of the low of High school students’ mathematical operation ability in Li area. The fifth chapter, from the attention to students’ non- intelligence factors and teaching case study to talk about the measures that how to improve students ’ mathematical operation ability in Li area senior high school. Finally is the conclusion and prospect of the paper.
