Bicultural Identity Integration Regulates Cultural Frame Switch

Existing Studies have found that different degrees of identity integration,s bicultural person in cultural frame switch ability is different, embodied in the bicultural identity integration regulates cultural frame switch. Most of these studies use the cognition as an measure index, such as salary distribution, attribution and creativity, etc. The present study based on the linguistic inter-group bias, use language as an measure index to explore whether it will still appear bicultural identity integration regulates the cultural frame switch. At the same time, from the perspective of thinking style, explore the influence of holistic thinking style to bicultural identity integration, which has important value and significance to research our country,s pluralistic integration cultural identity and intergroup harmony. Especially existing research use immigrant culture as mainstream culture, in china, han and ethnic minorities are indigenous peoples, use our country,s bicultural person as the research participant can further verify and expand the theory of BII regulates CFS.The experiment 1 adopt linguistic inter-group bias paradigm, using han and tibetan bicultural college students as the research participant, to explore how the bicultural identity integration regulates the cultural frame switch, based on the linguistic inter-group bias phenomenon. The results showed that:(1)The higher bicultural identity participants in the condition of negative titer,tibetan and han protagonist in the language of abstraction levels significantly differences;the lower bicultural identity participants in the condition of active titer, also showed significantly differences.The experiment 2 by priming holistic thinking style, explore the relationship between thinking style and BII. The results showed that:(1) there was a significant positive correlation between bicultural identity integration and analysis holism thinking.(2)By priming holistic thinking for the low holistic thinking group, the level of bicultural identity integration significantly increased.These results suggest that the level of the language abstraction can also be used as a index for BII regulates CFS; from the perspective of holistic thinking, you will find common ground and association between the two cultures, this will help bicultural person cultural adaptation and integration.
