By using self-presence theory, social gender theory and symbolic interaction theory, this paper is supplemented by qualitative analysis method of humanism orientation and quantitative analysis of female college students in Chengdu as research object, analyzing the image of the female college students in Sina microblog.Female college students in traditional media image always can’t get rid of stereotype. In order to cater to desires and interests of the consumer society, media report female college students as something superficial and strange. For these female college students, microblog is a free platform where they can perform easily, and breaking the fate of being written by the media. They are endowed the power to show themselves veritably. This paper attempts to answer these questions : what images of female college students are shown in microblog? what is the reason that affects their presence of images? This paper take the female college students in Chengdu as an example, using the methods of content analysis and case analysis from communication, sociology and other disciplines.Firstly, compared with male college students, the researcher analyzed the female students’ microblogging nickname, avatar and content in a week; Secondly, in order to refine their common characteristics, this study used the case method to analyze 10 female college students’ microblogs in 2013.So the researcher concluded that microblog objectively increase women’s accessibility to the media to express their voice, but actually not increase woman’s gender awareness. Most of the female college students don’t get rid of the stereotypes. This paper argues that there are four reasons for that phenomenon. Firstly, the deep-rooted patriarchal culture is the historical reason; Secondly, for the ideological reasons, feminist consciousness has not penetrate in Chinese women’s heart; Thirdly, the media and the school’s unconsciousness about gender awareness is the social reasons. Finally, that female college students have little gender consciousness is the subjective reason..
