Comparative Analysis Of Operation Mode Of Basketball Game In Colleges And Universities Of China And The United States

Basketball game in colleges and universities has been the focus of hot spots in the development of sports undertaking. In the past decades, exploration analysis and theoretical research has ben conducted in colleges and universities in China. Fruitful results and innovation have been achieved in varying degrees and we have obtained successful modes and experience in basketball game undertaking. However, various immature and gap still exists compared with that in American colleges and universities with a history of nearly a century. Therefore, we should always be aware of the differences from other countries under the glorious achievements.It is undoubtedly a huge opportunities and new challenge for colleges and universities to obtain development along with the goal to build sports power in China. In this sense, there is a great significance to promote China’s basketball in colleges and universities through analyzing and studying the different sports modes of China and United States.In this research, literature material method, case analysis, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, comparative study are adopted to discuss rules and characteristics of basketball game in colleges and universities in China and United States. In the present thesis, different sport phases including the preparation phase, the game phase and summary phase are analyzed comparatively in order to gain essence and provide reference for China’s basketball development. Based on this study, the following viewpoint is summarized in the end of this research.In the first place, National College Athletic Association (NCAA) stimulates training criteria for student athletes and that credit is the only standard to evaluate student athletes who are qualified for competitions. In America, academic performance weight more when universities admitting athletic students. On the contrary, Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) provides no specification of training criteria for student athletes. In China, age, student status and exercise experiences are the main criteria to judge students’ qualification for competitions. In the meanwhile, sports performance weight more for a university to admit student athletes.In the second place, competition rules stipulated by NCAA can better develop and stimulate student athletes’ body and mind potential. Comparatively, the rules of FUSC can better select and manage China’s competition referee team.In the third place, NCAA are divided into preseason, regular season and finals. In China, CUBA are usually divided into qualifying stage, regular season and finals. In the United States, preseason has no direct relationship with the regular season and finals. On the contrary, the three stages in China’s college students competition influence each other.In the fouth place, NCAA can gain more funding than FUSC in terms of sponsorship. In the meanwhile, broadcast media is more willing to cooperate with NCAA than that of FUSC and NCAA is more competitive.In the fifth place, the economic benefits of NCAA is mainly from television broadcasting, enterprise sponsorship and ticket sales. The funds of NCAA is the base and strong power for the development of American college and university athletics sports. However, CUBA obtains its fiance from advertising sponsorship fees and school funding and the funds can barely support its routine expense.
