With the development and application of the internet information technology, the construction of online teaching platform comes to be an essential means of realizing the education informationization. In the fast developing pace of online teaching platform construction in colleges, the research, construction and application of online teaching platform among the area of PE is of identical importance. The current study of the application of the online platform in aerobic teaching mainly focuses on the design and construction of the online teaching platform, as well as its impact on teaching effect, which is embodied in students’personal perception and their improvement in academic scores. The influence of the online teaching platform on teachers is comparatively in lack of academic attention and is not deeply probed into. Besides, the following aspects are also ignored by the scholars, for example, in contrast with traditional teaching modes, the application of the online teaching platform in aerobic teaching will add to a teacher’s working load, but how does the administration of a college handle this difference? Whether the online teaching mode will be supported by the teachers and how do they feel about the adoption of the online teaching platform. The paper investigates into the aerobic teaching in Ocean University of China and explores the feedback from the students who enroll in the aerobic classes, the teachers and experts, which will help to fill in gaps of the concerned fields. The paper records the process in which the online teaching platform is constructed and applied in teaching, therefore the differences from traditional mono-mode teaching are revealed from different perspectives and in different aspects. The paper uses research means of literature review, interview, questionnaire survey, experiment, statistics and logical analysis to explore the construction and teaching practices of the online teaching platform and summarize their impacts on teachers, students and teaching process, on which the advantages and limits of the application of the online teaching platform in aerobic teaching are reviewed and specified. The conclusion is drawn as follows:1. The application of the online teaching platform in aerobic teaching improves the students’learning interest, efficiency and autonomous learning abilities, the recognition of the online teaching platform is positive and students are willing to accept and use it. They also think it ought to be actively spread in colleges.2. In the area of academic achievements, the application of online teaching platform in aerobic teaching helps to uplift students’theory and techniques. The students’ technique score is significantly improved in short term instead of in long term.3. The application of the online teaching platform challenges the teachers’ knowledge structure, which requires teachers to provide more contents and information in class. Most PE teachers are in favor of the application of the online teaching platform and approves its significance in better teaching effects.4. A majority of PE teachers are temporarily not using the online teaching platform, the reason of which are as follows:the working load associated, the lack of related principles or rules and the motivation system.5. The application of the online teaching platform in PE brings the following advantages:better teaching effect, the diversification of teaching methods and the cultivation of students’ habit of regular physical exercises.6. The online teaching platform has limits of its own, for example, the infrastructure and construction of the online platform need to be improved; the teaching faculty requires upgrading; the students’ attention to the PE should be drawn; the updating of the teaching contents is of slow pace; some teachers are not motivated due to the lack of concerned motivation system.
