An Investigation And Countermeasure Study On The Current Situation Of Masses Basketball In Guyuan District

Masses basketball is a part of masses sports. The development of masses basketball has a direct influence on the development of masses sports. Many participants are attracted by the autonomy, freedom and flexibility of the involvement of the basketball, which makes it the most popular sports in China. The masses are the main body of the construction and development of our motherland. The quality of life and health of the masses affect the quality of work directly. Therefore, the fitness of the masses is a masses health problem. By using the method of literature studies, experts interview, questionnaire and statistic analysis, this paper studies on the current situation of the masses basketball in Guyuan District, Ningxia. The subjects of the study are Yuanzhou District and four counties in Guyuan District, including Xiji, Longde, Jingyuan and Pengyang.50 questionnaires were handed out in each district or county. A total of 18 unusable responses were received out of an eligible sample of 250, representing a 92.8% response rate. The study makes sufficient research and analysis on the current situation of the masses basketball development in Guyuan District from several aspects of the participants, including the basic information, participation time, participation frequency, participation extent and participation rate, puts forward some suggestions and countermeasures against the problems in the research, and serves as a reference to the healthy development of masses basketball activities in Guyuan District.The research concludes as follows:1. The participation rate of the masses basketball in Guyuan District is not high. Gender difference is obvious. Most participants are male and under the age of 35. Most participants have received junior middle school or higher education and have a regular work. The participation rate of the farmers is low.2. The basketball courts are not enough and heavily damaged, which can’t satisfy the need of the masses. Nobody is responsible for the management and maintenance of the courts.3. There is a lack of professional coach to instruct the masses basketball activity in Guyuan District. The level of instruction is low and can’t satisfy the requirements of the participants.4. The economic development is backward in Guyuan District. The lack of finance, the poor natural environment as well as long day time in winter affects the development of the masses basketball. Large rural population makes it difficult to organize and manage the masses basketball in this district.5. There is no comprehensive physical management system in Guyuan District. The organization and management of the masses basketball mostly depend on the government. The lack of marketization and socialization slows the masses basketball development.
