In my recent years’teaching practice, I find that the ninth-grade students show strong interest and passion in learning chemistry in the beginning period of chemistry study. However, when they begin to study the molecules, atoms, ions, elemental symbols, chemical formulas and chemical equations, a considerable number of students gradually loss their interest and confidence in learning chemistry. Most of them feel that it is difficult to learn chemistry and so that the first point of differentiation was born.In order to help students breaking through the differentiation, improving the teachers’ current teaching strategies, this research adopts the questionnaire survey method, volume testing method and interview method to investigate and analysis the ninth-grade students on the current situation of chemical terminology learning difficult respectively from the students’ learning concept and study method.Find that the main reasons for the students learning difficulties are that most students realize the importance of chemical terminology, but they are not interested in it because of the boring and hard to remember it; some students don’t realize the instrumental of chemical terminology, and have a narrow understanding of the role; most of the students have difficulty in terms of written chemical terminology; part of the students have prejudice in chemistry discipline, and so on. According to the causes of the formation of the above difficulties, based on the theory of learning, and puts forward seven concrete teaching strategies to improve the chemical terminology teaching tentatively.The teaching strategies are:teachers should guide students to understand the importance of chemical language knowledge correctly; teachers should adopt the combination of macro-micro-operator teaching method;teachers should permeate ahead the chemical terminology step by step to each class; teachers should guide and assist the students to strengthen the systematic method of study; teachers should strengthen the specification requirements, and promote the students developing good study habits; teachers should increase the intensity of training to cause the students’ attention; teachers should help students to abandon the former concept of bondage.And use the teaching strategies into teaching practice research to verify its validity.
