China’s women’s tennis has made a lot of remarkable achievements since the 21st century, but men’s did not make too many breakthroughs. This essay is on the research of growing experience of male tennis players both from China and Japan, with the purpose of providing valuable advice and recommendations for the further development of male tennis players in China and cultivating young tennis players.By the methods of literature study, video observation, mathematical statistics, comparative study, logical analysis, this essay is based on the research of the background of Chinese tennis and Japan’s and the example of China’s tennis player Wu Di and Kei Nishikori of Japan by analyzing their life experience and features as well as the forming process and cause of tactics to come to the following conclusions:(1)A huge difference lies between the training mode of tennis athletes of China and Japan. The main mode in our country is to build a professional team under the nationwide system, others such as solo mode based on the national training or market-oriented training mode preferred by more and more athletes also exists. The mode in Japan is independent training, and the athletes are funded by enterprise or family.(2)China’s tennis player Wu Di is cultivated by the mode under the nationwide system, first trained in club at a young age, and then chosen to train with the local team and the national team where gave him great support. Kei Nishikori went to IMG Academy in his adolescence with enterprise’s support, aiming to take the way of profession.(3)The features of Wu Di’s tactics are flexible footsteps, speedy moves, and strong aggressivity in backhand attack; meanwhile serve and the forehand stroke are his weaknesses. Kei Nishikori’s tactics are occidentalized and aggressive, having the advantage of swiftness which is prevalent among Asian players. He has very clear tactic intention, varied playing techniques and good mental quality. The forming and processing of tactics of Wu Di and Kei Nishikori have a close connection with their coaches in different phases.(4)The reason of the difference between them lies firstly in their physical conditions, secondly in their growing environment, then their varied tactics, and the different sponsorship during their development process.(5)The training mode of us and Japan has its own pros and cons. The advantage of our country lies in pooling all efforts to do big project under the nationwide system to lay a solid foundation for the heath growth of the young tennis athletes. The contradiction between our system and the high professionalism in the world tennis circle. The strength of Japan tennis lies in their high marketization and the great support from the tennis association in Japan and substantial enterprises.
