Research On Biological STS Items’ Design Of Senior High School In The Context Of New Curriculum

Arisen in Britain and America in 1960s, STS education has now been making rapid progress through a series of STS curriculum reforms and been driving worldwide reforms in scientific education. China, in its new curriculum reform, is also emphasizing enhancement of the connections of curriculum contents to student life, modern society and sci-tech development, which is exactly the demonstration of integrating STS educational thought into China’s educational reform.Although STS education has gone through decades of development, with well-formulated theories for curriculum and teaching, there are relatively less researches in STS educational evaluation. Examination is the key component of educational evaluation and test question setting system is an important link in examination research.This paper, targeting less-concerned STS items designing on the Biology subject, by using the research methods such as document analysis, case analysis and quantitative research, tries to make a clear definition for Biological STS items by referring to relevant Chinese and foreign literatures; through research into relevant educational theories, tries to lay a theoretical foundation for the system of setting Biological STS test-questions; through statistical analysis on the STS test questions in Biology test papers of college-entrance examination regarding new curriculum in recent three years, identifies the characteristics and challenges with STS items setting system on Biology of senior high school, providing supplementary instructions for the research; moreover, this paper elaborates the Biology STS items setting grounds, principles and methods in the hope of providing a train of thought for the system of setting senior-high-school Biological STS items.
