China and Korea have similar cultural foundations due to the geopolitical relations. But in the course of modernization, they have different experience and different national spirits. In addition, because of historical reasons, Korea integrate into western culture earlier than China. On the whole, the Korean culture which seems to be a bridge lie between Chinese culture and world’s dominant western culture. Maybe it can provide a reference to the Chinese martial arts.Chinese martial arts has a long history, it has become one of the international sports today. In 1990, the was found in Beijing, and since then its movements were developed organically in every corner of the world. Martial arts became an official Asian Games sport in the 11 th Beijing Asian Games in 1990 and the 12 th Asian Games in Japan in 1994. Martial arts also appeared as an Olympic demonstration event in Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. All those have played a huge role in promoting martial arts and opening a new chapter for its internationalization.Taekwondo is not only the Korean traditional sports, but it is a part of the flag of South Korea. On May 28, 1973, WTF was established. Since then, Taekwondo was modified and impored in the way of its contents, form, competitive systems and rules.These are contributed to Taekwondo more closer to the western competitive sports,which finally became an official event in Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.In this paper, through the comparison of the Korea Taekwondo and China martial arts, you will find out their similarities and differents, focus on the analysis of the two contries’ spreading models, explore the process of internationalization of martial arts in the absence of China and explore the way forward of internationalization of Chinese martial arts.
