| Children’s painting has the feature of pluralism and diversity. People have never stopped the children’s art education research. Children’s painting is to record and convey the messages in their heart. With the growth of the children’s physical and mental age, the painting ability development of children aged 8 to 11 began to change dramatically, specific performance in the depiction of three-dimensional space and fine object contour. But they feel powerless in painting techniques. During this period, most children don’t have enough confidence to express themselves and lost interest in painting gradually. So they turn to find another way to tell their own (for example, language and words, etc.). How to keep the children’s interest in painting? How to let children express themselves in their paintings? It is necessary to research in this area.This paper sort out the stage characteristics of the development of children’s drawing ability, mainly use the line drawing into children’s teaching. Children’s line drawing has the characteristics of gameplay, irbitrary, symbolic, and decorative, children has a natural talent for use lines to modeling. We can cultivate children’s interest in paintings protect children’s personality and stimulate children’s painting potential more sffectively through line drawing sketch and teach creative and decorative line drawing; It’s better for children aged 8 to 11 to break the stagnation of the painting ability in schematic stage. This paper mainly research by learning the development of the characteristics of painting ability in the individual case and the present situation of the development of children’s line drawing teaching, according to the reasonable teaching design and practice, thereby sum up a research result of children’s line drawing teaching. It’s an expanding of an in-depth study teaching mode to a variety patterns, it’s a vertical cultivation system of three directions with longitudinals horizontal and high. The author hope this study will help to improve the children’s expressive skills in painting that aged 8 to 11, and enrich the current theories of children’s line drawing teaching research.
