As a cross-border ethnic, Donggan people have already lived in Kyrgyzstan for nearly 130 years and still speak in Chinese with a strong Confucius flavor and traditional Chinese folklore. Donggan elementary-middle schools are selective about teaching English and Chinese which are taken as foreign languages.The thesis draws a conclusion which based on the truthful data through the questionnaires, classroom observation and open-ended interviews to Donggan elementary-middle schools, which are located on the main residence to Donggan people of Kyrgyzstan-Ysyk Kul and Chu Yi. After that, in order to provide a reference to the foreign language teaching of Donggan elementary-middle schools,the author analysis the data by using the scientific methods, reveals the general status quo, gives a think and proposes the forecast to Donggan elementary-middle schools’ foreign language education.The thesis consists of five chapters: Chapter one is introduction, including dissertations reason, meaning topics, general introduction to the research and the design of the research. This part is the summary of the whole thesis. Chapter two focuses on definition and the brief introduction of the relevant concepts, which refers to the concept-definition between “foreign language” and “second language”,the related education laws and language regulations of Kyrgyzstan as well as the brief introduction of Donggan people of Kyrgyzstan, and this Chapter lays a foundation for current situation survey. Chapter Three and Chapter Four are the core parts of the thesis. Chapter Three introduce the current foreign-language-teaching situation of the Primary and Secondary school of Donggan people in Kyrgyzstan.Based on the educational theory and viewed by teaching elements, this part mainly conducting a survey from the following aspects: introduction of teachers, teaching situation(curriculum setting, teaching materials, classroom teaching, teaching implementation and assessment methods), and parents’ attitudes toward foreign language. On the basis of the present situation, Chapter Four analyses the current problems which exists in the foreign-language-teaching of the Primary and Secondary school of Donggan people in Kyrgyzstan.On Chapter Five, the author does a forward look and thinks on the foreign-language-teaching situation of the Primary and Secondary school of Donggan people in Kyrgyzstan.
