In the early 1900, Columbia University set up the modern sense of domestic education major, which developed rapidly and its social impact expanded. At the same time, China had domestic education, but its teaching content was concerning female law and commandment, which far from meeting the urgent needs of new domestic talents in that poor country. In 1909, with the first Boxer Indemnity students studying in the US, Columbia University’s Home Economics Education began to have an impact on China,. By decades of Anti-Japanese War, through cultivating students and scholars to give lectures in China and China’s domestic newspapers and magazines trumpeted, Columbia University’s home economics education concept, content, teaching method were introduced into China and quickly took root. with Columbia University’s home economics education input and development, which greatly changed the concept of China’s domestic concept, improving the position of women and home economics education, cultivating a large number of domestic education personnel, and greatly promoted the progress of the society.In 1952, because of adjustment for subjects, colleges and universities of China canceled domestic education professional, but reflecting on this period of history, to rediscover home economics education professional role and restart home economics education still has important implications.
