Table tennis, flourishing in Europe and Asia, has undergone a long development process since the early 20 th century. With equipment improvement and rule changes, table tennis technology has been constantly evolved as well. As the competition becomes more intense and competitive level becomes higher and higher, it becomes more essential to summarize general rules used in key matches to enhance the scientific level of training and to strengthen the effectiveness and pertinence of the training through statistic analysis of the techniques applied for the serving round from video records of excellent male matches. This thesis utilizes the methods of literature scanning, video observation method, mathematical statistics and sectional index assessment method to analyze Xu Xin, Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Fan Zhendong’s video game when they serve. The thesis analyses placement, rotation, spin, route and the structure of serving round from the data of service technology in serving round, the third board and fifth board technology and the seventh board stalemate technology to provide some scientific theory and reference for the further development of men’s table tennis techniques. Through the research, the conclusions are as follows:These China’s excellent table tennis male players score or lose points most at the third board’s connecting technique, followed by the fifth board technique in serving round, the seventh board stalemate tactics and the technique service. The match focuses on the numbers of rounds. In these rounds the placement is mostly near net and long shot is little. The routes are controlling diagonal short ball by backhand or forehand. Attacking after serve of the first and third board in serving round is the main method of scoring. At the same time, service controlling technology is supplementary. After serving forehand through the middle or departed middle these players score by attacking opponent’s diagonal corner forehand or the middle straightly. The two diagonal corners are the most important area they score. In the first, third and fifth shot, continuous attack tactics’ utilization is much higher than other tactics. Positive attack plays a better role than passive controlling tactics. In the fifth shot technique, continuously attacking after backhand attacking opponent’s diagonal corner works best. In the stalemate stage of the seventh shot positive attack is the most important tactics and the route is diagonal. Attack and defense focus on opponent’s backhand. But the effect of score is not good enough and active losses increase. In general, the development trends of table tennis are the variety of technique, comprehensive technique, the balance of backhand and forehand and quick transformation of attack and defense.
