Xinjiang, located in China’s northwest border, is an important hub connecting Asia and Europe. Since ancient times, it is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-cultural coexistence region, which determines its national affairs with complex and sensitive features. In recent years, along with the further development of reform and opening up, our people access to information is becoming increasingly diverse, Various ideologies and cultures, values continuous influx, Western hostile forces to take this opportunity to continue with the separatist forces in the territory of the country colluded, Attempted to infiltrate the ideological, distorted history, violence, terror and other means to sow discord our equality, unity, mutual assistance and harmony ethnic relations, to destabilize the development of China’s economy, to split the country’ harmonious unification. Peaceful coexistence of all ethnic groups are social stability, economic development key. Therefore, Correct and reasonable national unity education is necessary and urgent. Through research on the current situation of national unity education, to analysis and found that the fundamental problems which exist, and to propose a practical significance solution is the research focus of the thesis.Research methods, the thesis on theoretical research and practical research basis, according to the nation’s Marxist theory and method, and the party’s national theory and policy, combination of historical and current situation of Chinese national unity, Research the method of innovation practices about Xinjiang national unity education.Firstly, the core concepts and basic theory of national, ethnic issues, ethnic relations and national unity are described, Then, based on the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region national religion bureau, Changji City national religion bureau, Yining County Office of national unity created, Yining County Vocational high school, and Urumqi victory Community and so on in the investigation. The status of Xinjiang national unity education has be done a detailed analysis, think that Xinjiang national unity education overall is effective, but there are still some problems. Such as, Unclear understanding on national unity and its importance, Low educational resource sharing and progress is uneven, The low level of Society organizations and human intervention, Due to the lack of innovation education could not suited to the development needs of the times, Lack of specialized personnel, Education’s object and scope is narrow and single, and so on. So, National unity education should not stop at existing experience. Instead to the continuous development and innovation in practice. To national unity education from content to form, from educators to the educated, from theory to specific embodiments, have to re-examine. By, Further clarify the connotation of national unity education, Adapt to the social development needs of globalization and modernization, Strengthen the educational methods feasibility research, The national unity education into community activities, Integration of a variety of educational resources, to form education resultant force, Establishing a sound social organization for national unity education supervision system, Moisten things silently to using a variety of publicity like network and television, etc,Expand the scope of education, To ensure that education covering all members of society,and other methods to make the national unity education rooted in practical.Through research Xinjiang national unity education results, Unity and stability of various ethnic groups, not only need sustained rapid economic development, but also need to have a firm sense of national consciousness and Chinese national awareness. These are inseparable with reality, progressive and innovative national unity education. Static, stodgy ideological education model not only can’t improve people’s guiding ideology, it will be discarded by the times.
