Research On The Lack And Reconstruction Of Credibility Of Contemporary College Students

Honesty is the mankind’s basic requirement. However, in the current period of social transition, lacking honesty is a common social phenomenon,including those worrisome dishonest behaviors which happened among some college students. As a new generation of college students which serves as a transition social group, setting up the correct value of honesty is meaningful to their growth,as well as the construction of the faith system, honest morality and culture in the whole society.This paper, starting with the trace of the basic meaning of honesty, probes into the phenomenon of lack of honesty in today’s college students comprehensively and systematically on the basis of illustration of its contemporary value. Unlike the existing research, the author tries to analyze the college students’ dishonesty in a broader sense.In addition to college students’ dishonest behaviors in their studying,economic and social life,which most of the existing research have involved, the author also researches on the political dishonesty,as well as dishonesty happened in application for a job, which are seldom concerned at present research.This paper has shown that,the lack of political honesty、the missing of learning integrity、the decrease in economic credit、the lack of the credit to apply for a job、the break faith of social communications are the main performances of college students’ dishonesty. The factors which resulted in those phenomena exit in the society、colleges、the misunderstandings on family education,as well as the college students’ own shortcomings and deficiencies.Differing from research which insisted that the reason for college students’ dishonesty is their lack of honest qualities, this paper suggests that the reason for the current college students dishonesty is the lack of social credit system. To improve college students’ honesty and integrity culture consciousness, we must draw on the successful experiences of the United States and other countries’ integrity education. Firstly, we should establish and perfect the system of related social honesty.And then, we should create a social atmosphere of integrity.Finally, we should formulate a honesty culture. Based on this thinking logic, this paper puts forward the corresponding strategies, including building a good construction environment for credibility system 、constructing a complete credibility system for college education、giving play to the family function of edification and supervision in credibility education and promoting self-practice of credibility for college students.
