As the completely curriculum system in China and the deepening of curriculum reform in basic education stage,three-level curriculum management system has become an important curriculum system of our country’s basic education stage. Under this big background, the research on the development of school-based curriculum, especially in how to integrate with local characteristics of nature, the humanities,history, and other resources for school-based curriculum development, become a persistent topic in the education circle.First of all, the study is to investigate the status quo of school-based curriculum development in senior high school at Guiyang. According to the survey of 114 teachers, 88.6% of the teachers think the school have school-based curriculum development, and 71.93% of the teachers involved in the development of school-based curriculum. The school has achieved results from school-based curriculum development.However, some problems appeared.(1) the school leaders’ and teachers’ understanding of school-based curriculum development is inadequate.(2) the main body of school-based curriculum development is too single to heavy burden and pressure.(3) the course content is not rich and short of Guizhou characteristics.(4) the social pay less attention to school-based curriculum.Secondly, according to the survey of the learning needs,the results showed:(1) 56.31% of the students don’t know the school-based curriculum, therefore, Students need according to actual condition to decide to learn or not.(2) 85.19% of the students think it is necessary to understand the characteristics resources of Guizhou.Because, they are helpful to live and work in the future.More than half of students are interested in plant medicine, animal medicine and mineral medicine. They hope to know the growth environment and distribution, medicinal efficacy, clinical effect and so on.(3)62.14% of the students think that it is time to set this course is more appropriate at senior grade one,1 to 2 classes per week.61.65% of the students hope to school-based curriculum in the form of courses, 77.43% of the students hope to study at the school in the form of practice or field trips this course.(4)the students hope to multiple evaluation methods of combining the comprehensive evaluation.Thirdly, according to study on the learning needs of students, the author determined the nature and course idea,planed the curriculum goals and chose course content. The authors design the content of chapter five, including overview of the Guizhou medicine,herbs,animal medicine,mineral medicine,drug firms and development prospects.Finally, the author wrote to teaching case and selected to teach to two class on overview of Guizhou medicineimplementation, the following conclusions:(1) 94.4% of the students can accept overview of Guizhou medicine.(2) 98.1% of the students agree that Guizhou medicine is not only the key industries of Guizhou, is also a feature of Guizhou culture.91.7% of the students think in after learning the "overview of the Guizhou medicine " become more aware of their hometown, and would be happy to introduce others on Guizhou medicine.
