The focus of chemistry teaching is to develop the students’ chemical quality, which is mainly reflected by the appropriate application of chemical language. In this thesis,the main emphasis is on how to understand students’ chemical language ability, to cultivate students’ ability of chemical language, and to improve students’ understanding of the chemical discipline of symbolic expression system. Chemical language is a language form of human beings to regulate and simplify the chemical knowledge by means of words and symbols. It covers chemical terminology, chemical basic concepts,chemical symbols, etc., and plays an important role in students’ life, science and technology work and learning exchange. Having a high level of chemical language ability is a prerequisite for understanding and memorizing the basic knowledge of chemistry, and applying relevant chemistry knowledge to solve practical problems. So,it’s vital to cultivate students’ ability of chemical language. However, in the current chemistry teaching, teachers often pay more attention to the students’ score and the mechanical memory, neglect the cultivation of students’ scientific literacy, and ignore the cultivation of students’ ability of chemical language. Therefore, it is necessary to study the status quo of students’ chemical language ability, to explore the problems in the cultivation of students’ chemistry language, and to find appropriate teaching methods and teaching strategies to improve students’ ability of chemical language. By this the students’ chemical quality can be improved. However, in practice, I also found that it may lack of the necessary third perspective only relying on the strength of the individual to improve the students’ ability of chemical language. This may result in the poor objective and effective of this research. Therefore, some other teachers are invited to help the author from the perspective of the third to find the problem and put forward suggestions. Practice has proved that this effect is very good.In this thesis, the students’ chemistry language ability of the junior middle school students in our school is studied, using literature data, many methods questionnaire,classroom observation and other methods. Teaching objectives and plans are proposed based on reality. A case of two classes have been studied and the factors that affect thechemistry language ability of junior middle school students are found in this thesis through the case analysis. Through the classroom observation and cooperative research,the countermeasures to improve the junior middle school students’ chemistry language ability is proposed in this thesis.
