Language learning strategies(LLS) are some detailed measures utilized by learners to fulfill learning targets in the process of language learning and using. According to the tremendous studies in China and abroad, language learning strategies have great influence on learners’ achievements. Unfortunately, there are few studies on the students who study in secondary vocational school after graduating from junior school, let alone on the specific correlation between language learning strategies use level and English achievement of these students.This study, based on the Public English Test System 2 and a questionnaire survey of 115 subjects, describes the distribution of language learning strategies use level and correlations between LLS use level and English achievement of the students who are in the secondary vocational school. By the descriptive analysis of the data, the author gets the following findings:(1) The language learning strategy use level of the students are low, in which the memory strategy use level is the least, it needs special training;(2) there are significant differences of all the language learning strategies use level between the students who pass both the oral test and written test of Public English Test System 2 and the students who don’t pass both the tests, which means the instructions on language learning strategy are necessary;(3) There are differences of the language learning strategies use level between the students who pass the oral test or written test of Public English Test System 2 and the students who don’t pass both the tests. Among all the strategies, the differences of the two groups on affective strategy and social strategy that closely connect with oral ability are most significantly, which signifies language learning strategy use level has positive effect on English achievement, means the improvement of the language learning strategies use level can improve the English achievement and language learning strategy instructions are meaningful.As a result, the author conducts two instructions on oral strategy and memory strategy in daily teaching and learning. According to the above results, the author states out some suggestions for the English teaching and learning of these students. This study is a good start of research on the students in secondary vocational school.
