While the work for school safety education strengthens step by step,the school safety accidents frequently occur, this has to let us to re-examine the school safety education, especially the safety education in rural primary schools. This study takes rural primary schools in Xiangyin county of Hunan province as the research objects, using literature method, questionnaire survey method and interview method and other research methods. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the current situations of safety education in rural primary school from the consciousness of safety education, safety education management, safety education content, safety education way and the effect of safety education.This study shows that the safety education in rural primary school overall in good condition. The achievements are as follows:First, create a county-level social environment of "everyone speaks safe"; Second, build the county-level school safety management mechanism of “Transverse to the boundary, vertical to the end”; Third, explore "life elements" in the rural safety education.However, safety education in rural primary school in Hunan province still has some problems:First, the problem which relies heavily on management rather than education in the the rural primary school is serious; In the second place, there are some differences in the consciousness of safety education between teachers and students, and students have cognitive bias in safety education; Third, safe education management has a common phenomenon which software is more important than hardware,and the rural schools haven’t fully teaching hardware equipments; Fourth,there are central tendency which relies heavily on physical health rather than psychological health, lays emphasis on traditional health rather than modern health in the safety education content; Fifth, with the huge numbers of the splitting up of families, the family education resources are hard to use to safety education; Sixth, there are group differences in students’ safety education of rural primary schools; Seventh, there are group differences in teachers’ safety education of rural primary schools.On the results of the survey, this study puts forward some improving Suggestions:In the Teachers’ level: pay more attention to group difference of the rural students;according to “one position with two responsibilities”, undertake teaching and security work. In the School level: build the safety education which returns to rural life; pay attention to the rural teacher’s safety education; Improve the safety education system. In the National level: change idea, safety education and safety management are equally important; Build a protective screening which combines families, schools with rural towns.
