This paper focuses on how to organize, guide and monitor students’ reading which is mainly based on students’different levels. Although classroom teaching has been carried on for a long time, the gap between the students is always a big problem. Even worse, the discrepancy of the English level based on students’different levels has been a problem that most teachers are worried about and it has become the difficult point of teaching.This paper tries to explore a set of effective methods to fit students’ different levels. This research also attempts to divide the students into three groups, and the groups are adjusted with the students’changing levels of their English proficiency. In class, the researcher designs different tasks to fit the three level groups respectively, and to promote each student to make a rapid or each student is becoming bigger and bigger, especially in English reading ability. Therefore in English classroom, English writing is always a weak point. How to conduct a Multi-level English teaching activity in reading progress is necessary for the researcher. Through the data analysis of tests, the result shows:1) In the experiment, divided teaching mode can help to increase students’interest in reading; 2) The experiment can improve students’ autonomy in reading;Before the experiment, the researcher divides the students into ABC levels according to the survey and the pre---test. During the experiment, the researcher designs different reading tasks for the class reading and homework reading. After the experiment, the researcher analyzes English reading, and the experiment shows the effect of divided teaching, the students’ interest and reading ability has been improved.Because of the positive results which are got from the experiment, the author concludes that divided teaching for English reading can be effectively and favorably applied to junior nine middle schools students.
