Since the second world war,by facing the outside conditions like society’s knowledge economy transformation,the rise of consumerism,the reducing of government’s university funding and the put forward of preferential policies in patent technology transfer,and the inside condition like universities’ resource dependency and function expanding,The Massachusetts institute of technology (MIT),as a representative of American research universities, introduced of market forces and begin the academic-commerce cooperation. This changed relationship between universities and market causes the worldwide attention and discussion.But,in the process of academic-commerce cooperation practice like professor’s consulting, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer,MIT began to has problems like academic resources consumption, teaching status decline, the damage of undergraduates’ rights and so on. These problems were caused by the entirely separate between academic and commerce.To solve these problems,MIT create the entrepreneurial ecosystem and technology transfer agencies.which not only solve the problems,but also gain great achievement in academic-commerce cooperation.MIT’s success causes whole world’s attention,its transformation catalytic the birth of a new mode of university-- the entrepreneurial university.Comparing American universities’introduction of market forces and academic-commerce cooperation,our universities’progress is short, low degree, but developing rapidly. In this condition,MIT’s experience in academic-commerce cooperation is very useful for our universities who also want to combine academic and commerce successfully.The aim of this paper,for one part is to remove the misunderstanding and doubt about the academic-commerce cooperation,and show people the right idea by learning the lesson from MIT’s experience of academic-commerce cooperation.for the other part is to suggest that our country’s universities can adapt the knowledge economy society, doing transformation successfully by cultivating the innovative entrepreneurial talent and cooperating the academic and commerce force in the way not the university-centered,but professor-centered.
