With the progress of human beings and development of society, China education has transformed from the traditional one to modern one, and the essence of education has transformed from social survival to technical survival. Therefore, the life of people has been changed accordingly. With the great contribution, China education shows some salient problems. It is always an inseparable relationship between education and human, between society and natural environment, and it is a social phenomenon accompanied by the emergence of human society. Survival is the most important target for biology, and education essence of human society survival is the most important activity to maintain the human living state. It is necessary to research education essence from the ecological philosophy point of view.In the survival mode based on agricultural technology system, the essence of education makes people understand social survival. Chinese traditional education is closely related to agricultural technology system, mainly for family education. People learn survival ability in the society mainly through knowledge impartation from patriarch. Social existence is one of the most important functions that human needs to implement in human life, its basic conditions are language and character, its higher requirements are people’s behavior. The purpose of education contains the pursuit of ecological implementation; also it embodies the talents supply for society ecological system. The dissimilation of Chinese traditional education gradually makes education essence deviate from the technology. The content is dissimilated to contempt of natural technology; the purpose is dissimilated to seek career and pursue officials blindly; the object is dissimilated to creativity murdered. In the survival mode based on industrial technology system, the essence of education makes people understand technical survival. Teachers and students are the education subjects of modern education essence; objects of modern education essence contain teaching content, teaching facilities, places, etc. Modern education not only makes students gradually form a rigid view of nature; but also enables people to create extraordinary achievements of science and technology. The nature of modern education experienced a process from society survival to technology survival with a series of influence. It is of vital significance that enlightenment acquired from the veer for human to choose a road of survival and development in the future.In a word, people should not only learn society survival, but also learn technical survival. It is the basic target that needs to be realized eventually for education, and it is the final presentation of the education essence on ecological philosophy. On the path towards ecologic, humans may truly learn survival after they encounter the rough of education essence alienation.
