In psychopathology, "brainstorm" refers to the mental state of a psychopath with hyperactive disorder and reinless divergence. According to this,American creationist, A. F.Osborn,put forward the method of "brainstorming",which is defined as "a meeting skill used by a group in which members come up with ideas spontaneously to solve a specific problem"(Yuan Xiaojun 2008).This method has expanded multi-perspective thinking modes for problem-solving and has been applied in many fields to inspiring innovation.This paper concerns the empirical study of brainstorming applied in English pre-listening activities of senior high school.Regarding to the background of the new curriculum reform in our country and the actual teaching situation in English class,the author makes a deep analysis andstudy on the feasibility and function of the application of brainstorming in English pre-listening activities of senior high school. And with theoretical analysis and empirical study,this paper makes objective demonstration on the applicability of brainstorming activities in senior high school English pre-listening teaching, which leading to the discovery of numerous benefits of brainstorming applied in English pre-listening activities of senior high school along with some existing problems and its solution.The operativeskills and points for attention of brainstorming activities in senior high school English pre-listening teaching are also summarized in this paper.This paper is divided into six chapters:the first chapter describes the researchbackground,research purpose and the significance of the research;the second chapter make comprehensive analysis on the domestic and foreign research status ofbrainstorming in terms of both theory and practice; the third chapter introduces the theoretical basis of this study:constructivism theory and schema theory; the fourth chapter mainly focuses on feasibility,function, operative skills and points for attention of the application of brainstorming English pre-listening activities in senior high school; the fifth chapter is about the empirical study part which records the 10-week comparison experiment on brainstorming applied in English pre-listening activities of senior high school which is conducted in Grade 2 of Jixi No.1 Middle School;the sixth chapter draws a conclusion according to the comparison experiment result and puts forward some suggestions to the high school English pre-listening teaching, and simultaneously makes a summary and rethinkof this empirical study.
