Practice Research Of English Writing Feedback For Senior High School Students Basing On Mobile Devices

The writing feedback is an essential part of the teaching of writing, and an effective feedback can improve the writing ability of students. At present, the major form of writing feedback is the teacher’s written feedback. In recent years, with the development of using the network-assisted mobile devices in teaching, the research of using the mobile devices into English writing has draw much more attention. Therefore, this thesis is aim to discuss whether it is feasible to use the mobile devices to feedback, to improve the students’ English writing ability, or to release the pressure of the teachers.Before writing, the author has gathered information from questionnaires taken from 150 students of Qitaihe NO.1 Senior High School. From the results of the questionnaire, problems were found. First of all, some students generally agree that the written feedback from teachers are time-consuming. Besides, the problems and confusions appearing during writing process can not be effectively solved through teachers’ written feedback. What’s more, some students think the improvement of writing skills is slow with teachers’ written feedback. In addition, it takes the teachers a lot of time and effort to modify a student’s writing.When teachers find mistakes of students’ wiring, it’s impossible to communicate with the students immediately.In this paper, the behaviorism learning theory, the constructivism learning theory and the process writing theory are used as the theoretical basic. Binding with the pre-research at NO.1 Senior Middle School of Qitaihe, a new practical model of the electronic feedback on English writing was designed and put into practice. Here are the concrete steps of the practical model. Step1: Teachers set up a We-chat group. Step2: Teachers tell the students the writing task. Step3: Teachers and students discuss the writing task before writing. Step4: Students send their writings to teachers by using the mobile devices. Step5: Teachers give the feedback to student’s writing through mobile devices. Step6: Teachers and students communicate through the mobile devices. Step7: Teachers upload the mistakes which students often make to the We-chat public platform. Step8: Teachers check whether the students master the knowledge or not through written test. During the practice research, interviews were also used.By analyzing the data of the practice research, conclusions of improving the students’ writing skills and shortening the distance between teachers and students can be made. In addition, the relationship between teachers and students is promoted by this practice research. Besides, more and more students are fond of English writing. As before writing, most of the problems occurring in students’ writing are solved by the group talk through We-chat, the pressure of teachers caused by English writing feedback is reduced.With its new forms, efficiency, the English writing feedback basing on mobile devices are welcomed by both teachers and students. It has a bright future and is worth further research.
