The following three aspects are important components of the educational problem, namely, improving the "self-awareness" toward educational science, strengthening the reflective construction of education, and studying the "General Education", all of which also belong to the problems of China education history. "General Education" edited by Meng Xiancheng et al. and "General Education" written by Zheng Jinzhou are regarded as two classic education works in the Republic of China and contemporary, respectively. It went through half a century from the original version to the final version. The two books not only reflect the thoughts of the two authors, but also impact educational minds in two different times, so both of the books are accompanied by the development of times, inherited with the scale of identity and abandoned with the benchmark of adjustment. Macroscopic description and microscopic exploration are touched in the comparison, with the purpose to provide historical reference for the development of "General Education" teaching material in our country, the construction of "General Education" subject, and the reflective construction of education.In addition to the "Introduction", this paper is divided into three chapters, and the summary of each chapter is as follows: in the first chapter, the basic content in the two "General Education" books are compared covering the frame structure, basic concept and underlying theme three aspecs. Not only focus on the content of the two books, but also pay attention to the form of two books; not only focus on the reflect of uniqueness of the authors’ thoughts, but also pay attention to the results from different eras and academic backgrounds of two authors; not only pay attention to "common ground seeking", but also focus on "difference reserve". In the second chapter, it discusses the evolution trend of the two "General Education", covering the ideological background, Chinization degree and theoretical construct three aspects. In the third chapter, based on the future direction of the teaching material construction of "General Education", it starts from two striving directions. The first aspect is mainly about the future striving direction of "General Education" teaching material, covering teaching structure rationalization, teaching materials integration, teaching style diversification and supporting materials serialization four aspects. Structure of teaching material focuses on the selection of "rationalism" and "Working doctrine"; Content of teaching material focuses on the absorption of content system; teaching style emphasizes the possibility of various forms; supporting materials focus on the formulation of discipline standards. The second aspect is mainly about the future striving direction of "General Education" discipline construction, covering discipline-oriented reflectivity, discipline independence enhancement, and practicality standing. Independence of discipline standing relationship "General Education", Value of discipline independent relationship "General Education", and Self-reliance of discipline practical relationship "General Education".
