The routine mode of chemistry review in Senior 3-presentation, analysis, consolidation-has failed to arouse students’interest, which will result in students’ inability to learn chemistry by themselves and the deterioration of students’chemical literacy because of the decreasing status of chemistry as a subject, the shortened class hours of teaching it as well as the lessened importance students attach to learning chemistry after 2008, when the current exam system was first introduced. Taking into consideration the above as well as the basic and effective part in chemistry teaching-experiments, the author puts forward the idea of adopting the subject-teaching and researches how to implement it in chemistry teaching in Senior three.This paper adopts literature research, classroom observation, test method, and questionnaire survey research methods, etc. After researching the theory, traits, procedures and significance concerning the subject-teaching referred to in the academic materials concerned, the author illustrates the teaching principles from the following aspects(the target, the content, the design, methodology and the evaluation), classifies the teaching materials into different categories, like production, life or society, and eventually designs the routine procedure through trial and error. By introducing three cases in which the author adopts the subject-teaching, the paper points out the efficiency and the effectiveness of the subject-teaching through the analysis of the students’performance in written exam before and after the subject-teaching is adopted plus the comparison of the scores of the experimenting group and those of the routine-teaching one.In consequence, the research concludes that the implementation of the subject-teaching is feasible and essential. Not only do students in senior three have great expectations for a comprehensive review of the knowledge they have acquired employing experiments, but also they have explorative enthusiasm for looking for the solutions to the different problems arising in different areas using the knowledge they have acquired. The subject-teaching using experiments in chemistry review in senior three help teachers enrich their teaching materials, provide interesting reference and ignite the class. At the same time, it also allows students to perceive the routine approaches to explore chemistry through practice, then improve their chemical literary and establish the correct attitudes toward life, value and world.
