Interactive teaching was proposed in the 1970 s and developed well from then on in the Western countries, then in China, which is regarded as an effective teaching method. Compared with traditional teaching methods, Interactive teaching is a new teaching method which emphasizes the interaction between teachers and students, students and students, and learner-centered teaching instead of teacher-centered teaching. Interactive teaching is a dynamic teaching and learning method, which motivates both teachers and students, makes the atmosphere of the classroom more lively and interesting, creates more opportunities for students to participate in different classroom activities, cultivates students’ integrated skills and develops their self- learning ability and creativity. The National English Curriculum puts emphasis on the cultivation of learning interest of the students and the development of self-learning ability and creativity, which promotes a new way of learning---autonomy, cooperation and inquiry. Interactive teaching meets the objectives of the National English Curriculum and the needs of the students’ English learning.The study aims to find out the relationship between interactive teaching and the students’ academic achievements in order to help students improve their English learning. Before the experiment, a questionnaire survey was conducted aiming to know students’ interest, attitude, motivation in English learning, etc. After the experiment, the second questionnaire was conducted to learn about the changes of students’ attitude and interest after the interactive teaching. Besides, SPSS was used to analyze the data of the study. The research methods used in the study also cover an experienced study and a test.The research questions of the study are addressed as follows:(1) What effects does the interactive teaching have on the students’ academic achievements?(2) What are the effects of the interactive teaching on the students’ interest and attitude in English learning?After a careful study, the research findings are summarized as follows:(1) The interactive teaching is useful to raise students’ academic achievements. In the process of the interactive teaching, a series of activities, such as group discussion which provides students more opportunities to communicate, think and learn in English. Through interactive teaching, the students’ integrated skills are greatly improved.(2) The interactive teaching can raise the students’ English interest and change the students’ attitude of learning. In class, the students can get more opportunities to show themselves so more and more students participate in the activities, and the atmosphere of the classroom becomes more and more lively. In the interactive teaching, the students become the real participants and masters of learning.
