Objective:The present study was undertaken to master the overall physical condition,health cognition and behavior condition of university staff and to obtain infuential factors of health conditions among university staff. Based on above information, epidemic rules were explored. In addition, the emphasis of prevention and treatment of disease in university staff members was determined, which provided the systematical evidence for guidance of improving self care consciousness of university staff members and prevention and intervention of disease.Methods:According to three times in medical examination reports of staff from 2010 to 2014 in this university, the survey on health effects was performed for the staff who participated in medical examination in 2014. The questionaires consisted of general condition, gender, age, height,weight, operating post and individual behavior habit including dieraty habit, smoking, drinking, training level, sleep parttern and stress. SPSS 17.0 software was employed to analyze relevant statistic data.Chi-square test and multivariate logisitic analysis were used to calculate data with the significance of P<0.05.Results:1. Medical examination:The average prevalence of fatty liver, hyperlipidemia and hypertention among the university staff were 26.8%,20.7% and 20.5%, respectively,which were higher than national average. The males’ prevalence of above chronic disease were higher than females’, and increased with the age.The prevalence of fatty liver and hyperlipidemia were remarkably increased at the age between 40 and 59. However, the prevalence of hypertention was increased among the over 60s. The prevalence of hepatic cyst was high and increased significantly among the over 60s. The prevalence of fasting blood glucose was slightly higher than that of the prevalence rate of impaired fasting glucose and the related factors in the aged 20-79 years old in Tianjin City with the increment of age.The prevalence of benign prostatic hyperplasia in males, hyperplasia of mammary glands in females and gynecological diseases (cervicitis,vaginitis, etc) were fairly severe.2. Questionnaires of health behavior:The results of statistic analysis in 528 questionnaires showed that fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, hypertention and type 2 diabetes were infuenced by multiple factors. According to the results, the risk factors which contributed to chronic diseases were smoking, drinking, irrational diet structure, obesitlack of exercise, high work pressure and lack of health knowledge. The percentages in males were higher than in females in irrational diet structure, smoking, drinking, long work time and higher work pressure. Compared to administrative teachers and logistic staff, the higher percentages of workload in teachers beyond the original job duties was apparent. Senior professional teachers bore the most stresses of scientific research and had the highest percentage of smoking and drinking. Besides, they were lower aware of their health, which implied the importance of health condition of senior professional teachers.Conclusion:Staff in this university were in a state of poor health conditions owing to increasing prevalence of fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, hypertention, hepatic cyst, and hyperglycemia. Moreover, unhealthy life style existed in staff of university, such as high work pressure, lack of sleeping time and physical exercise, etc. Smoking, drinking and high fat and salt diet were observed among males.
