Map refers to the use of a certain percentage of symbols, colors, text annotation and other display graphics depicting natural geography, administrative regions, socio-economic status of the Earth’s surface. Map this study include geographic charts and geographic images. Map contains rich geographic information, both teaching tool, but also an important part of the college entrance examination expedition. Development of the region based on a regional basis, different regions, different natural backgrounds, different humane background, the existence of problems and development direction are also different. Study the map of teaching, not only to provide direction for teaching, but also to promote students’ practical and creative ability. In the teaching process, teaching geography content of three compulsory PEP more integrated school, students learn and practice the process, there is a big problem for the map information extraction and analysis, this paper aims to identify the main teaching high school geography map problems and propose solutions.In PEP high school geography compulsory three as an example, we use questionnaires, statistics inductive method, interviews, case studies, qualitative and quantitative analysis, analyzed and summarized the interest of high school geography teaching high school students to learn, ability to interpret blueprints, analyzes the main problems and the use of maps, mental map building and so on, and propose appropriate solutions. Through the analysis of survey results, there is a high school geography map teaching the following problems:First, for students, basic knowledge is not solid, positioning capability and integrity to grasp is not enough; the lack of interest on the geographic map learning; practice in real life than the ability to use difference. Secondly, from the perspective of teachers, teaching more single rigid form, can not attract student interest. Some teachers of geography literacy should be improved, map teaching the importance of geography to be strengthened. Third, the current status of the school and examination system, inadequate attention to geography, school geography teaching task, study too much emphasis on exam results, ignoring the cultivation of students’ practical abilities.To solve these problems, the high school geography map teaching strategy as follows:task-driven teaching, inquiry teaching issues, teaching divergent thinking, knowledge construction education, multimedia network teaching students drawing habits.
