Purpose:The mid-foot stride running is a running technology which became popular recently. Studies of it is still in primary stage. Mid-foot stride runningisa suitable technologyfor middle/long distance, as it based on human anatomy. It is conductive to the body’s shape correction and also injury alleviation. Mid-foot stride running require for the proper use of hip extensor, while the hip joint ROM and the power of hip extensor directly determines the use of it. Thisstudy aimed to evaluate the influence of hip joint ROM improving and muscle activation in training, to support the Mid-foot stride running learning.Methods:24 Beijing long-distance runnerswere randomly divided into 2 groups (experiment group, n=12; control group, n=12), been trained for 9 hours of the Mid-foot stride running in 3 weeks. By using the 3D kinematics and plantar pressure plateto analysis, summarize the body posture and the plantar pressure data before and after training. Results:The runners after training have significant changes on COP position and transfer time, the body trunk and lower limbs each motion segment angle (such as hip extension angle, landingankle angle, trunk bend angle), and also stride length, stride frequency et al. The running technology of runners after training, shows a more economic and security trend. On the other hand, the runners training with the hip joint ROM and hip extensor strength exercise, compared withrunners without such exercises, have a distinct improving on training efficiency. The result of this study demonstratedMid-foot stride running technology both from the biomechanical point or from the actual effect, can effectively improve the posture of runner, is helpful to improve performance inrunning. Runners need to practice the hip joint ROM and hip extensor strength in Mid-foot stride running training, while it can make it an effective running.
