In the critical period of China’s comprehensive deepening reform, the international political and economic situation are on a trend of becoming more complicate than ever. Together with the social and cultural pluralism, various thoughts fiercely collide with each other, therefore, to maintain ideological security, cultivate successors and builders of the Socialism with Chinese characteristics, China should further strengthen the construction of socialist core values, further strengthen and improve ideological and political education. Colleges and Universities’ ideological and political education should also grasp the trend of times, reflect the country and society’s requirements on ideological and political education. As an important part of higher education in China, nongovernmental colleges are also entrusted with a very important mission-- to do a good job of ideological and political education.In order to come up with better ways and approaches to improve the current ideological and political education in nongovernmental colleges, this thesis takes Changchun Institute of Finance and Economics as the research subject and attempts to analyze the current demand and supply in ideological and political education with reference to relevant theories in economics, to explore the nongovernmental colleges’ of supply and demand of ideological and political education. Starting from the two angles of demand and supply, and with the help of literature review, questionnaire, together with focused group discussion, Starting from the two angles of demand and supply, and with the help of literature review, questionnaire, together with focused group discussion, Statistical analysis of ideological and political concept 、surrounding environment perception 、attitudes to others and other state of mind, take survey of students free-time arrangement, self-learning, engagement in school activites, part-time jobs and other behaviors. It is found that currently students in nongovernmental universities share problems of low theoretical level, various value orientations, pragmatism, over-emphasis on professional skill development and self, ignorance of discipline, lack of unity of moral knowledge and practice, lack of desire to advance etc.The thesis probes into the situation of teaching staff and working procedure in the ideological and political department of Changchun Institute of Finance and Economics. Based on the students’ thought and behavior, a further analysis is done to comprehend the students’ demand in politics, knowledge and skill, spirit and adaptation to society. Through the research, three major contradictions are found in the supply and demand in ideological and political education. First, there is an imbalance between the high demand of ideological and political education and low supply of current teaching standard. Second, the supply is unitary, while the demand is multilevel. Lately, the diversified social development brings about the diversified demand for ideological and political education, however, nongovernmental higher education fail to realize this trend. Third, the contradiction between supply ways and demand ways. Traditional classroom teaching still remains the major approach of ideological and political education in nongovernmental universities,but the influence of the current reality is that traditional education path waning is weaker than before, for the increasing influence of the Internet and other new media and other new media, nongovernmental universities has not aware and apply its effect. Also, lack of sufficient communication between education givers and receivers also lead to the contradiction.In order to solve the problems and better develop the education in the ideological and political field, this thesis comes up with several suggestions. First, an awareness of the importance of ideological and political education in universities should be improved. Second, an intensification of practical teaching and after-class activites should be given. A system of rewards and penalties should be established to inspire the students’ studying interest and initiative, stimulating students’ ideological and political education needs. Third, a qualified feedback system is needed. With the access to students’ phychological and studying status, a better understanding of the demand will be guaranteed. Thus universites can offer the exact kind of education which the students have expected. Fourth, an effectively strengthened the overall coordination and co-ordinate arrangements for the overall work of ideological and political education need to be developed. Establish a mechanism for implementing responsibilities in ideological and political education is also needed to develop the counselor、Student Party Members’ leading role and make sure the supply can meet the demand. Fifth, introduce the students the latest teaching method of ideological and political education and promote ideological and political education in student organizations activities with the help of network media or propaganda, making the ideology and politics education spread to a larger range.
