The relationship between emotion and cognition in sports is an important issue in the field of sport psychology. The information processing mode is one of the classical of perception processing methods, which is comparative important to athlete’s performance. Emotion, as people’s subjective attitude, undoubtedly will have an effect on one’s cognition in sports. In this research, we adopt both questionnaire method and experimental method to explore the effect of different emotion on different emotional resilience athletes’ information processing mode using different emotion regulation strategies. The research compromise two parts:Part 1: To test the effective of 《Adolescent emotional resilience questionnaire》applying on college athletes. The result showed that: the《Adolescent emotional resilience questionnaire》has good reliability and validity among college athletes, that could be used to measure the emotional resilience of college athletes.Part 2: This part through three experiments to explore three questions.Experiment 1: To explore the effect of different emotional resilience level on athletes’ information processing mode. The result showed that, different emotional resilience level could affect athletes’ information processing mode. High-emotional resilience athletes’ information processing reaction time is shorter than low-emotional resilience athletes’ information processing reaction time. High-emotional resilience athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing the holistic information than processing the local information, while low- emotional resilience athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing local information than processing the holistic information.Experiment 2: To explore the effect of different emotion s on different emotional resilience athletes’ information processing mode. The result showed that, emotion could affect athletes’ information processing mode. In positive emotion, the athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing holistic information than processing the local information. While in negative emotion, the athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing local information than processing the holistic information.Experiment 3: To explore the different emotional resilience athletes’ information processing mode in different emotion using different emotion regulation strategies. The result showed that, different emotion regulation strategies could affect athletes’ information processing mode. Athletes using cognitive reappraisal strategy have a shorter information processing reaction time than athletes using express suppression strategy. Emotion regulation strategies and information processing mode have an interaction effect on athletes’ processing reaction time. Compared to process holistic information, athletes’ reaction time is more likely to be influenced by different emotion regulation strategies when processing local information. Therefore, the conclusions were as follows:(1) The《Adolescent emotional resilience questionnaire》was of good reliability and validity that could be used to measure college athletes’ emotional resilience.(2) Emotional resilience could affect athletes’ information processing mode. High-emotional resilience athletes’ information processing reaction time is shorter than low-emotional resilience athletes’ information processing reaction time.Athletes with different emotional resilience level inclined to different information processing mode. High-emotional resilience athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing the holistic information than processing the local information, while low- emotional resilience athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing local information than processing the holistic information.(3) Emotion can affect athletes’ information processing mode. In positive emotion, athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing holistic information than processing the local information. While in negative emotion, the athletes have a shorter reaction time when processing local information than processing the holistic information.(4) Different emotion regulation strategies could affect athletes’ information processing mode, no matter in positive emotion or in negative emotion, athletes’ information processing reaction time of using cognitive reappraisal strategy is significantly shorter than athletes using express suppression strategy.Athletes using different emotion regulation strategies can affect one’s local information processing significantly, compared to process holistic information, athletes’ local information processing reaction time is more likely to be influenced by different emotion regulation strategies.
