Emotion is the product of biological evolution,while emotion regulation is a process to reach balance through monitoring various individual actions on emotion including response,experience,awakening and expression,as well as adjusting and revising them.High school students are at the crucial stage of emotion development and shoulder the heavy burden of knowledge learning.Therefore,studying the effects of different emotional states on students,and how to adjust emotion effectively are important for their study and daily life.Two experiments were conducted.One explored the effects of different emotional states(positive,negative,neutral)on different English vocabularies(positive,negative,neutral)memorization;and another the effects of different emotion regulation strategies including cognitive reappraisal group,expression inhibition group and controlled group on different English vocabularies(positive,negative,neutral)memorization.The results show that:(1)The highest score of English vocabulary memorization is achieved by negative emotion group.And,there is a significant difference between negative and positive emotion group.(2)Under the condition of positive state,the score of positive vocabulary memorization is slightly higher than the others;Under the condition of negative state,the score of negative vocabulary is significantly higher than other two kinds of states;In the neutral state,the highest score is the result of positive vocabulary memorization,and it has a significant difference with negative vocabulary.(3)Under the condition of negative state,cognitive reappraisal strategy and expression inhibition strategy have an effective influence on reducing negative emotion.For the memorization of negative vocabulary,controlled group is significantly higher than cognitive reappraisal group and expression inhibition group.While for the memorization of positive and neutral vocabulary,there has not significant difference among the three kinds of emotion regulation strategies.
