Recently, English learning attitudes and English learning self-concept have been studied by many researchers home and abroad. However, there focuses lie in following aspects:1) the definitions of attitudes and self-concept; 2) the characteristics of students’English learning attitudes and self-concept; 3) ways to improve students’ English learning attitudes and self-concept. Some of them study the relationship between English learning attitudes and English achievements and between English learning self-concept and English achievements. Seldom of them combines English learning attitudes with self-concept to study their relationship. This study aims to explore the relationship among English learning attitudes, self-concept and English achievements.Eighty-seven second-year students of Xiaoxi Ta High School take part in this study and all of them major in science. A questionnaire and an interview are adopted to collect quantitative data and qualitative data in this paper and English achievements are measured by final English examination. The research questions are as follows:(1) What are the current situations of high school students’ English learning attitudes and self-concept? (2) What is the relationship between students’ English learning attitudes and self-concept? (3)What is the relationship between English learning achievements and other variables --- learning attitudes and self-concept? (4) What is the relationship among English learning attitudes, self-concept and English achievements?After the analysis of the data, the following conclusions are reached:(1) High school students hold positive attitudes and self-concept towards English learning. (2) High school students’ English learning attitudes correlate positively with English learning self-concept. (3) There is a positive relationship between high school students’ English learning attitudes and English achievements. (4) There exists positive correlation between high school students’ English learning self-concept and English achievements. (5) English learning self-concept is a good predictor of English achievements while English learning attitudes can not predict English achievements.
