| This paper mainly study about what kind of teaching method in English writing class can not only cultivate the students’ interest, but also can improve the students’ English writing ability. As we all know, teaching methods which are commonly used in English writing teaching are:Product Approach, Genre-based Teaching Approach and Process Approach. Product Approach lacks monitoring in the process of writing so it is unfavorable to the cultivation of students’ writing ability; Genre-based Teaching Approach has higher demand on students’ language ability, which is not suitable for lower grade teaching; Due to the process and teaching mode of writing, The problem of Process Approach is that student lacks guidance from the teachers before writing, so students who have bad foundation,can not have any capacity in planning their writing outline before writing, Because of this situation, under the social interdependence theory, we try to apply cooperative learning in English writing class of Junior Middle School.Cooperative learning is a kind of small cooperative learning groups, organized by the teacher among the students in the form of team cooperation, which shows the interaction between teachers and students. In order to complete the common task and achieve common goals, students need to make a group with others. Cooperative learning has the extremely strong creative and effectiveness, and owns the reputation "The most important and most successful teaching reform in recent decades". Therefore, we did an experiment between two Junior Nine classes in Aizhuang Junior Middle School. Class One was the experimental class using cooperative learning in English teaching writing while Class Two was the control class in a traditional way. The experiment went on a semester. During the process of the experiment, we carried out questionnaires, interviews, and then compared with the grades of two classes. At last, we got some valuable data. After the experiment, the students’ attitude towards English writing in the experimental class changes greatly, from hating writing to accepting then to like writing, and they are more interested in English writing. Meanwhile, their English writing ability has been improved generally.The study indicates that cooperative learning in English writing of Junior Middle students in Junior Middle school. It not only cultivates the students’ interests of English writing and improves the students’ English writing level and communicative ability, but also promotes students to help and supervise each other, share resources and improve mutually. Meanwhile, it is one of the effective ways to improve teaching of the English writing in the junior high school and a kind of good method which is worthy of being learning by English teachers. |
