Students with learning difficulties can be found in every age group. They feel lethargic in class, rarely do homework, test poorly, or even play truant now and then. Parents and teachers spend quite a lot of time and energy on them, but the results are still minimal. The intelligence of these students is normal. Their poor academic performance is the result of lacking learning motivation. The state is revertible and hopefully be ameliorated by targeted teaching skills. However,conventional teaching can hardly solve the problems. Collective teaching mode asks teachers to face the whole class so that teachers have no time to analyze how these students lose their learning motivation and what they can do to help low-achievers to improve in most effective ways. So stimulating low-achievers’ learning motivation is still a disturbing issue.The reason why low-achievers lose their learning motivation is very complex. It can be considered as the result of many aspects: family, school and society. Moreover, each individual could have his particular reason. So it is hard to stimulating low-achievers’ learning motivation by conventional collective teaching. In that case, teachers can try a more effective way:individualized instruction. Individualized instruction pay more attention to the ability、interest、need and problem of single student,so it could be the ideal way to improve low-achiever’s learning. It is necessary for teachers to study in the individualized instruction strategies for stimulating low-achievers’ learning motivation.The research takes the students of Xinyuan School artificial typical as an example.On cognition,teachers should establish a clear, reasonable and operational objectives, help students with learning difficulties improve internal factors,and help students get the feeling of success through educe the difficulty of the subject,shorten the teaching time, adjust the teaching methods and so on.On emotion, teachers should communicate with these students, express understanding and support, enable them to gain a sense of autonomy;arrangements for students’ level of teaching content, enable them to gain a sense of competence; and treat students with learning difficulties in equality, so that they can gain a sense of belonging.On willpower,teachers should encourage them, help them to overcome difficulties and urge them to develop good study habits.
