Research On Ecological Civilization Consciousness Education Of Science And Engineering Students

The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China makes the major strategic plan on promoting ecological civilization construction,and gives high priority to making ecological progress. It proposed to strengthen the ecological moral education of citizen,raise the level of ecological morals of all the cadres and common people around the country. And erects the ecological civilization ideas about respecting nature,conforming to nature and protecting nature.Science and engineering student is a special community which master the advanced techniques of national development,they are planners of engineering construction, they are main actors or enforcers of ecological progress. Their future job involve physics,chemistry,biology,civil engineering,physical geography and other fields. What ecological construction need is the qualified people that stand out from the rest.The thought or theory of ecological civilization should apply to science and engineering’s practice importantly instead of being restricted to cultural fields. Therefore,science and engineering students should be educated for ecological civilization,and their brains should be armed with ecological civilization. It has significant influence in science and engineering’s research,application and individual students’ cultivation. It also has great important in our nation’s ecological construction.The thesis discusses the question about science and engineering students,based on the results of a questionnaire,which conducted among some science and engineering students at a university about current situation of ecological civilization consciousness. The questionnaire mainly in what they learn about the basic knowledge of ecological civilization,the level of ecological civilization consciousness and practice situation,the cultivation of college’s ecological civilization consciousness and the correlation between ecological civilization and major.Then organize problems mainly exist in the ecological civilization consciousness of science and engineering students:lack of deeper awareness of ecological civilization,not put the theory into practice effectively,not incorporate ecological civilization knowledge into professional knowledge. And analyze the cause of the problems: the side effect of polluted environment,the lack of college’s ecological civilization education system,ecological thinking has yet to enter the teaching of science and engineering. Aimed at these problems,there are some measures to strengthen the education of ecological civilization consciousness of science and engineering students.First,develop diversified course of ecological civilization consciousness;Second,build ecological campus;Third,arouse teachers and students’ enthusiasm to ecological activities inside and outside the campus. To deepen the theories of ecological civilization research and provide value exploration for college’s ecological construction.
