Exercise, as an indispensable part of acquiring knowledge and skills, is not noly the extension of classroom teaching, but also the process of students’ independent learning,which importance is more and more attention.On the background of junior high school chemistry exercise, according to the requirement of New Curriculum Standards of students’ scientific literacy and Student-centered concept, with recent developments,constructivism throry,reinforcement theory as guidance,and taking the second time of exercises as the entry point, we want to design exercises after analysis of students’ exercises of the first time, which is fit for junior high school students.The first part of this thesis discusses contents, methods and purpose of this study.The second part summarized the present situation at home and abroad, then defined the concept of second-time exercise.The third part shows the practice research in case study of junior high school in Shangcheng District Hangzhou city, investigating the situation of chemistry exercises in junior middle school and students’ emotional attitudes towards homework. Regard to the standard of entering a higher school---students’ achievement, we analyze correlation between students’ exercises and their interest in learning, as well as between achievement and interest in learning by using SPSS software of several dimensions (quantity,difficulty, repetition rate and feedback frequency) so as to provide a factual basis for the designment of second-time exercise. Then propose principles and strategies of designing exercises on the basis of several dimensions that influencing students’ learning interest. Next we develop, design and implement some cases of second-time exercises in light of students’ actual situation. Then, we evaluate their effects. The fourth part presents the conclusion and prospect. In order to facilitate further study, we put forward some relevant suggestions according to the implementation of the second-time exercises.
