Educational philosophy is built up by principals from their school running practice. It reacts to their thoughts and values of school running practice again. It is also the essence of a principal’s school running dream and belief. The educational philosophy of a principal plays a key role in whether a school can offer educational circumstance with high quality to promote students’ growth. Only principals take the advanced and correct educational philosophy as the soul and guideline, can they make their school more powerful and more charming. However, some principals cannot adapt to the spirit of educational reform in both philosophy and practice. The deficiency of educational philosophy and practice is general in primary schools to some extent.Case study method is used in this study. Primary school education is special and typical. We try our best to analyze and study the formation and practice the educational philosophy of S Primary School Principal. By clarifying the essential characteristics of educational philosophy and forming mechanism and practical logic, we can give primary school principals something for reference. According to school running practice and deep consideration for years, S Primary School Principal takes “Education for Creating Human Beings” as the core educational philosophy of S primary school. This study is divided into four parts as follows:The first part is introduction. It consists of five points, including problem posing, significance of research, overseas and domestic research actuality, definition of core concepts and design and progress.The second part explains the progress of its formation. Firstly, we give an explanation to the idea of “Education for Creating Human Beings”. Next, we describe the progress of the formation of the educational philosophy, which include embryonic stage, exploration stage, establishment stage and the stage of constant adjustment and improvement. Then, we have a discussion on four elements that plays an important role in the educational philosophy. They are early-family education, the idealism of educational hope, active listening to teachers and students and awareness of lifelong learning.The third part refers to practical exploration. In this part, we set out the practical approach of S Primary School Principal in detail. There are three aspects including deepening the reform of courses and teaching, constructing school culture and promoting humanistic management.The last part is about enlightenment. We conclude five principles from S Primary School Principal’s practice. Firstly, principals had better insist on students-oriented education and pay more attention to the value of human life in education. Secondly, principals should adhere to lifelong learning and focus on the knowledge accumulation and construction. Thirdly, improving the management style and management system can highlight principals’ humanism feelings. Fourthly, the promotion of leadership will stimulate the generation of practical wisdom. Last but not least, principals should devote themselves to constructing learning community and setting up homeland for teachers and students’ development.
